The Watts Towers (a.k.a. "Nuestro Pueblo") in South Los Angeles was built over a period of 33 years from 1921 to 1954 by artist Simon Rodia and is a collection of 17 interconnected sculptural towers, architectural structures, and individual sculptural features and mosaics. The Towers are currently owned by the City of Los Angeles and are periodically open to visitors.
